Keith says; I think cameras on the avenues of this City is fine. We do have 
cameras along West Broadway; the outcome has not been very rewarding. One big 
reason: lack of voluntary monitors. 

Those same citizens who listen to their police scanners, and many others, 
could, would, and should be watching their "neighborhood-cam" on the internet. At 
home, or at their neighborhood business, they would be drawn to there 
computer screens for entertainment, and education. They would "learn" what the hell 
is going on down on the corner, or right outside. They can quickly phone in 
concerns to 911, or other neighbors. 

These voluntary neighborhood eyes on the street will be more effective, and 
safer, then neighborhood vigilantes. And less mysterious then Big Brother. 

And Big Brother is Broke anyway.
