If you thought everything in the parade was disgusting, why were you even
there?
I think Saturns are GREAT cars but it's more their business philosophy that
I'm sold on! I bought a used Pontiac mini-van from them in December and the
engine went out on it 2 months later. It's a risk one takes when buying used
cars and I've known a lot of people who've gotten burned this way but
Saturn put a new engine in for me under their standard 90-day power train
warranty on used cars :-) And they felt bad that I was so inconvenienced by
it all that they insisted on loaning me a VUE while they fixed mine. I also
had a problem with a door panel early on so they put two brand new ones in
for me!
As I could only afford a used car, I checked out a number of dealers and
even got a loud guffaw from one salesman when I asked about warranties on
used cars! Saturn came highly recommended by some trusted friends and it's
been a completely satisfying experience for me. And I like that they don't
dicker on pricing so everyone's on the same playing field. I checked the
Blue Book on my van and their asking price was half what it was worth!
They've completely dispelled my preconceptions of buying a used car!
Personally, I think the VUE is much more attractive than a lot of those
other little mini-suv's out there -- but it's all just a matter of opinion,
isn't it? And I just have to believe in a car company that supports and even
embraces their gay employees when so many other employers shove us out the
door -- one way or another! By the way, purple isn't one of their color
choices -- they did that special for the parade and I liked it! But folks
can always get the Saturn logo in rainbow lettering :-)

>From Dyna on Monday, June 30th:
The Saturn dealer's rainbow of these ugly station wagons on tippy-toes
was as disgusting as anything in the parade. Of course, now that the
customers are on to the fact that Saturn is just another GM division
and that they've been getting ripped off by the "one price" bull
they're not selling so well. This explains why the Saturn dealers have
such a selection of colors on their overflowing storage lots. I looked
at an Ion a few weeks ago and even with a couple thousand knocked off
the price it still didn't look too tempting.

Dyna
