With all due respect, my personal feeling is that this kind of question should never need to be asked. I worry when people start rallying behind a candidate based on race or gender, as though these qualities will insure provisional treatment for select groups. As for whether or not they are local, that might be more to the point. My only hope is that wherever they hail from, they've done their homework about the situations we deal with here, and are prepared to deal with them indiscriminately.
