Keith says; Lucy Gerold leading CCP/SAFE, her boss Chief Olson, and Former
MCDA chief Steve Cramer were of the same feather, in the bad old days. Always
willing to be the good soldier of bad City policy under the old regime. These
eager executioners of bad policy brought us scorched earth, crime containment
zones, disinvestment and roaring debts through overpayments to insiders. They
were "good soldiers", and ferocious. They were just followink oerders; and happy
to oblige the oligarchs, while hurting smaller individuals.

Lucy Gerold led DT CCP/SAFE central command; a unit that was much like the
CIA; as the catspaw for vengeful CM's. Lucy Gerold may have learned too well on
the political side; she should never be the Chief.

On the other hand... Inspector Dolan, leading the 4th Pct., has earned the
respect, and trust of the officers he leads, and many community members. He is
cool, calm, and low key. He is not full of himself either; he has humility. He
is accessible but not easily swayed by BS. He is sorta like Will Rogers
without the rope; and with management/leadership training.

He was the first Commander to allow that Landlords should not be punished for
calling 911 for help at their rental properties (then current CCP/SAFE
policy).

He reviewed warning letters to landlords before they were issued, tacitly
acknowledging, and correcting, bad former CCP/SAFE policy.

He has tried to balance the rule of law on our Northside streets with the
protection of individuals' civil rights; and has had much success.

For these good reasons, and many more he should be considered for Police
Chief. For these same reasons he will probably be overlooked. I just hope he
remains in the 4th if he cannot be Chief.
