Mayor Rybak will declare Monday, July 14 as Gertrude Brown Day to honor the spirit and work of W. Gertrude Brown, founder of Phyllis Wheatley House in North Minneapolis. As part of the celebration, Hosmer Library will show "The Heart of Bassett Place: W. Gertrude Brown and the Wheatley House," a documentary by Mick Caoulette. Messers Harry Davis, Mick Caoulette, Larry Brown, Harold Brown and Ms. Barbara Cyrus will talk about Gertrude Brown and the Settlement House from first hand experience.

July 14, 7 pm, Hosmer Library, 36th St. and 4th Ave. FREE to all.

Join us in honoring Gertrude Brown, a significant player in Minneapolis history.
