Shawn: Thank you for providing us a glimpse of the African-American "network." Even if people are dismissive of the e-mail you posted, it�s important that these experiences be heard. To the white community, if there is such a thing, the experiences of African-Americans tend to be off the radar and thus are dissed or dismissed.
The waitress had a bad day? Puhleeze. With restaurants decreasing hours because of not enough customers, behavior like this is unacceptable. (It�s unacceptable under any circumstances.) I can guarantee you that if I (or others on this list, I venture) had a similar experience, and if I had repeatedly encountered these experiences, I would want the world to know. I agree, we can�t say for certainty what happened because we weren�t there. But as I�ve said before, everybody jumps to conclusions. We just don�t jump to the same ones.
