Another "lost lake" -- I live on 32nd & Girard Av N, former home of Silver Lake. I met an old guy when I moved in 20 years ago who claimed to canoe from his home around 33rd & Sheridan across the lake to the old Bremer School, now condominiums just one block from my house.
It was hell with rain backup before the new sewer project was completed last year. I'm third from the corner and the rain would back up right to my front door and into my basement just about every time it rained. The residual damage to my basement and foundation is pretty severe, too.
