I was pretty impressed with a column written by Steve Perry in this week's City Pages:
He gave me the words I could not find to describe our current politician culture:
and I think it could be applied to our current Mayor: that "In American politics, professed intentions always count more than results."- Steve Perry
In my filmed interview with Mayor Rybak he professed concern about homeless people being forced into the streets and he also asked for advocates to provide him with information on what other cities have done.
Taking him at his word (professed intentions) I sent him certifed mail a 270 page report that gave information on both compassionate approaches cities have taken towards people who are homeless and not so kind approaches.
I have gotten a response from his aide that the report has been received but , after repeated requests for feedback from the Mayor and his staff as to what they gleaned from this report in terms of what Minneapolis and the Mayor could do (take a stand on) I have received no response.
So, along with waiting for a resonse about the CEPD appointments, I continue to wait for a response on the above issue.
