In our pursuit of a diverse and dynamic leadership, Twin Cities Underground,
a new non-profit youth center located at 405 West Lake Street, is inviting
teens and adults to join our planning committee meetings on Mondays at 7pm.

The Underground is a place where youth can "do their thing" whether it is
music or spoken word, hanging out with friends, a teen art exhibit in The
Lounge art gallery (back of The Underground), surfing the web on computers
on a high-speed Visi.com dsl network, relaxing or playing games & cards, or
other pursuits we don't offer (yet) but will because youth suggest it and
are willing to work with adults to make it happen.

The adults use their energies to help facilitate the goals of the youth.

The sky's the limit when we all work together!

Some of the events we have already hosted since opening our doors June 1
include: punk rock bands, live hip hop performances, poetry workshops and
poetry slam, a book release party, an art exhibit, computer-generated music
performance, and just your general cool-place to hang out Tues-Sat evenings
for teens.

Some of the future ideas we are all working to make happen include an
internet radio station, a knitting club, after-school homework help in a
great atmosphere with the best sound system in town (who can study without
music?), a creative film-editing workshop, a city-wide teen produced
newspaper to be delivered via newspaper boxes to every high school and
junior high in Minneapolis, a back-to-school weekend celebration, an
Underground car for next year's Art Car Parade, and... what's your idea???

Call (612) 824-2612 for info. Meetings Monday nights at 7pm.

kitchen tables & chairs if anyone has any to donate.

TEMPORARY REMINDER:
1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait.
2. If you don't like what's being discussed here, don't complain - change the subject
(Mpls-specific, of course.)
