Hollywood finally gets its day to be renewed. Wonderful news, and I really hope it happens.
As for the homophobes and opposers, I wonder if they prefer having a rotting old building in their neighborhood more than the possibility of some gay guy pissing in their pansies? That may happen, but I very much doubt it will. I just moved from Waite Park to Nokomis East, but still plan to get to wonderful NE now and then. I am anxiously awaiting the new "POP" restaurant moving into the former "Nan's" spot. And who can pass on Sarah Jane's bakery? As an add to this, the cheapest gas in town seems to be at the SA on 37th Ave and the station on 37th and Stinson. I need to find the cheap stations in Nokomis East now, why pay more than I need to ya know. I am very excited about the project and I cannot wait to see the finalized plans. I am relieved that the project is almost underway after years of jumping through hoops. The majority of folks are very pleased and are willing to help out any way they can, although there is minority group of neighborhood opposers and homophobes. As for the wine/beer license, most people that I have spoken to are in favor. There are a few confused souls that think there is a bar moving onto the street. In fact drinks will not be available unless you are a paying customer with a ticket to a show. I know most people interested in an evening binge won't pay a $15 ticket price for a mug of suds. I doubt there will be a problem with people "peein' on my pansies" and lewd behavior in the streets. This seems to be the biggest argument for opposing a wonderful project. -Sean Ryan Audubon _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
