Hello Everyone, It's been a while. Between school and taking care of a terminally ill father, (who will probably lose services, by 2004) I have found a small few precious minutes to respond.

Michelle Gross, Thank you!!!!! for speaking out about the decision to send in the good ol boyz. I thought this was once tried before, and when it was the people who suffered were primary those of color and those that are decent folk, who lived in these communities.

I does not make sense to continue to send in troops, when that is not solving the problem. Another thing, Some people here in Hawthorne have documented criminal activities, morning, noon and night. We have called and spoke to people, i.e. CCP_SAFE, inspections and the like, and to this point nothing, I repeat nothing has been done yet. Even though there is video taped evidence.

Bringing in the Troops will only move the problem, as it has many times before. What I'd like to know is where's the game plan, where the solution to problems many people are faced with having to survive? What about actions, not band aids......Why do we have continue to do thing's that give a false comfort? Jordan is not the only one with problems, neither is this city for that matter.

Has anyone even began to sit down and come up with creative solutions to the problems at hand, or is the answer to every problem, send out the troopers. Who ultimately suffers? the criminal's? Heck no!, It the decent african american's and others that live there. We haven;t even solved the problems of DWB, driving while black, and yet we send in more officers, who don't know the neighborhood, or the people for that matter, to have more problems......

Being a politician is never easy, but when you get the job, these are the thing's that we look up to you for. To help us help ourselves, help us find solutions, not temporary fixes to the problem.....I urge, our leaders, and community official's to dig deeper, and come up with workable solutions. Not band-aids.

Vanessa Freeman-Waiting for solutions not band-aids.
