It is not whether or not Peter McClaughlin likes Basim Sabri or not, it is about him
supporting a developer who has successfully changed a neglected, downridden, drug

is now, inviting for other investors and visitors.

No question that Sabri has made investments in Lake Street properties, and that
appearance-wise they are much improved. I wouldn't say that the area is "cleaned up"
just because a few (or several) buildings have been renovated. From what I can tell,
crime in these areas is worse now than it has been in years - prostitutes are
everywhere, drug deals happen all hours of the day, and murders are putting the area
on the map again. I realize there isn't necessarily a correlation to Sabri, though
some claim there is. Point is, some buildings have been renovated, more need to be,
but the area continues to languish and Peter McLaughlin's lack of vision for Lake
Street is not helpful.
