Linda Berglin does not posture and does not bellow. Linda does not posture liberal, Linda is the true LIBERAL. A true political LEADER, who quietly goes about making the world better for people. Linda is the original Steel Magnolia, a sweet person willing to go eye-ball to eye-ball with anyone for her people. Eyeball to eyeball with Pawlenty. Humm, I bet Pawlenty more than blinked. Did he do what he wanted anyway? Sure, but if you have ever seen Linda when eyeball time comes, you know what white hot daggers look like. Does Linda care about the community people who are the real victims of the institutional discrimination that concentrates criminals in their communities? You can bet your life. Is Linda willing to work tirelessly to make a better world for poor people and seniors? You can bet your life on it! I do not know many politicians I would bet a dime on. I would bet my life on Linda.
So Peter let me rephrase it for you, so it is more understandable. I did not say Linda Berglin was one of the most prominent Democrats in the State (though she is). I said she was one of the most prominent LIBERALS. Linda is a REAL liberal who looks for solutions to REAL problems, not someone who engages in theoretical fluff while watching suffering go on around her. Linda is not a "Limousine Liberal", Linda is a get down in the mud if necessary to help someone, old time Democrat. Not much fluff, but a whole lot of substance. Probably Peter and some others should watch Linda at the Senate, then they would see what REAL leadership is. Something we have damn little of in this State and this City. Yes, Peter should look at real work and compare Linda to ANYONE! Health care, Senior Care, Affordable Housing, Environment, I know of NO ONE who has done more for poor people. Leadership is more than posturing. Leadership is also having the iron in your soul to fight for your people. Linda gives us that iron resolve. Can Peter supply even one leader, even one, who matches Linda Berglin in that liberal leadership? I seriously doubt it. The whole State has benefited from "OUR" Linda Berglin. Do I always agree with her? NO, absolutely not. But I am damn proud to be represented by someone who is ALWAYS willing to fight for what she thinks is right.
