WE ARE SEEKING ONE OR TWO SELECT LEADERS FROM THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN AND LATINO COMMUNITIES WHO ARE CONCERNED WITH YOUTH AND/OR MUSIC AND THE ARTS TO JOIN OUR SMALL BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
Twin Cities Underground is a new, non-profit youth center in South Minneapolis, started by parents and teens to give ages 12-20 someplace to hang out and call their own outside school hours. On weekend evenings we often present live music by teen and college-age bands. Thursdays are open mic for whatever the youth want... including poetry & acoustic. Music ranges from rock and punk to hip hop and blues... whatever the kids want to play is what we do. The Underground also has 6 computers on a high speed dsl network, lots of tables & chairs, sofas, foosball table, exceptional sound system, and an art gallery. If you are, or know of someone who cares about teens and wants to support their involvement in this very cool venue, please contact Wendy at (612) 386-8916.
