The problem I see with these discussions that say "I don't mind drug use, I mind the way people behave when they are on drugs" is the wealth of speculation included. How does anyone know when someone is behaving annoyingly they are on drugs? Sure, bound to be the case SOMETIMES. But how often? The problem is the belief that you have a fact when all you have is an inference. Why not just ditch the "they're on drugs" assumption and get right to the behavior? What does it MATTER whether a person disturbing his neighbors is on drugs? Do you think the drugs really cause it? If so, why is anyone ever annoying without the help of drugs? Drugs make a nice fallguy. Just like "it isn't him, it's the alcohol." No, it's him. The alcohol merely helps his enablers go on with their enabling. Why don't we have a Booze Street to go withour Crack Street? Do you SEE the messed-up thinking that is involved in this? It is one of the biggest problems in the Drug War, that people simply don't have to use their brains once the get in the Drug Zone. To me, I really never will care why someone kills. Dragging in drugs distracts from what I consider the actual issue. And you won't stop homicide by attacking something else. I hope by now, the police has recovered from their bout with self-defeating thinkng and realize they're after killers and thugs who happen SOMETIMES to have some drug involvement. They don't have the money they should have, so they need some way to pick out the critical targets. Forgetting drugs is a way. I mean, look, we have examples from the news of people on LEGAL drugs killing people, but you don't see police distracted by that. So, it is time for them to stop listening to people whose obsession with drugs is a hobby and concentrate on the VIOLENCE and the KILLING.
$35 million offer
It is tendentious misapprehension to attribute disagreement with the $35 million to "jealousy". We've clearly indicated in a way TOO OBVIOUS TO MISS that we think it is STUPID to give your alma mater money for its FOOTBALL PROGRAM when it is in dire straits everywhere and the FOOTBALL PROGRAM is not a priority of the regents. The guys says he's grateful to the U for helping him become a success. How silly is it to think the football Gophers were what made the difference? Really. Why not give the money to the B-school or something like that which has a remote chance of being the reason why. Well, it just goes to show how financial success does NOT either reflect superior brain cells NOR cause them to grow!
