I can attest to all of the following at our school. I
am trying to enact an alternative revenue stream that
may be useful to Minneapolis schools too. It's called
www.schoolcash.com. 

Make at purchase at one of 200 online retailers
through the schoolcash portal and a percentage of your
purchase price goes to the school of your choice.
You're not buying crap like wrapping paper and popcorn
tins, but you're buying stuff you need anyway. Vendors
include J. Jill, Spiegel, Land's End...you can see the
whole list at www.schoolcash.com.
