In my work with various groups in Phillips and
watching as volunteers work tirelessly to deal with
the crime problems that plague their neighborhoods, I
have had the opportunity to see first hand the "rap"
sheets of many criminal that prove to me the judicial
system is broken.

I will just use my favorite one, Terry McMasters. He
is the "gent" that lived in Jana Metge's house
(without her permission) for three days while she was
on vacation and destroyed it for her. He had
somewhere between 100 and 200 arrests. The exact
number escapes me because it keeps changing. Two years
later he even stood in her alley behind her house and
taunted her. His arrests were not for being a material
witness or any benign cause. They were for burglary
of dwelling, narcotics, weapons, assaults, etc. etc.
etc. These are all felony crimes.

Perhaps that is the difference here. I am not
advocating they put people in jail for not painting
their houses, J-walking or littering. (although
there's days I would like to see littering a felony
too) These are for felony crimes that have a violent,
negative affect on someone else's life.
