Actually Councilmember Zimmermann (who loves and protects the trees)arranged with the Fire Chief to do this cooperative venture. It has been extremely helpful but may I remind everyone please water what you can yourselves...there are far more trees than all the trucks combined could ever water. WE NEED YOUR HELP - water your trees - soak them. The Farmer's Almanac says we are going to have a very dry, warm October also. The word is there will be no fall color show this year - trees leaves will turn yellow and just drop off. This draught has been devastating to our beautiful urban forest. And just like the budget cuts I hear it is perdicted that it is going to continue for at least another couple of years. Annie Young citywide Park Commissioner
