Hi All--
The nonprofit that I work for, the Management
Assistance Program (MAP) for Nonprofits is partnering
with Symantec to provide virus protection for up to 50
nonprofit agencies. Symantec has donated antivirus
software and we will have computer geek volunteers
available to install it at participating nonprofits.

If you know of a Mpls. nonprofit that needs virus
protection, hook them up with Sheldon (contact info.
below).

If you're a geek who wants to do a bit of community
service, contact Sheldon too.

<FORWARDED DETAILS>
On Friday, October 10, MAP for Nonprofits will install
free up-to-date computer virus protection software at
50 Twin Cities nonprofit organizations, with the help
of volunteer computer professionals.

Organizations need to sign up now for this service.
The registration deadline is this Friday, September
19. Register on MAPs website at
www.mapfornonprofits.org or call MAP at (651) 647-1216
for a registration form. Generous support from ADC
and Symantec makes it possible for MAP to offer this
special service at a cost of $15. Sign-up is limited
to the first 50 eligible organizations.

The event will address a serious issue for nonprofit
organizations. Organizations can get computer viruses
from email messages, from downloads from the Internet,
from documents sent by a co-worker and from computer
diskettes. They can cause serious damage to data and
software and erase hard drives. Lack of virus
protection exposes organizations to a serious risk of
lost data, including client and financial records.

If you have any questions, call or email Sheldon Mains
at 651/632-7233 or [EMAIL PROTECTED] before Thursday noon.
