Former Trainer of IRS Auditors, Sandy Botkin says "You would have to be brain dead not to have a home based business." The tax advantages alone can save from $2-20,000 for virtually any US Family. Let me show you how you can start a lucrative home based business part time without changing anything you are doing today. Perhaps Minneapolis could do something similar. I would like to spend more time on this topic but am concerned about it's Minneapolis specific relevance. I would like to spend some time discussing prevention of degenerative diseases as being far more important than the treatment thereof, and far more cost effective. The most direct area of Minneapolis relevance is in our public school's nutritional program. What are our public schools feeding our kids? Are they paying attention to ensuring that the foods served are low glycemic so as to avoid spikes and crashes of blood sugar levels, which certainly can affect student attention and behavior? Are they paying attention to the antioxidant makeup of the foods? How about the presence of transfatty acids etc. I am speaking out a bit uniformed as of now. But I am hoping someone on the list can help me out with advice on advocacy groups working with and concerned about the school lunch programs. This past week I had the opportunity to meet Bernice King, Martin Luther King's youngest daughter and have committed to join her in an international crusade to accomplish several tasks. First and foremost to improve the health of people worldwide through better nutrition and secondly to help build an entrepreneurial model where people of all races can build individual businesses promoting good health through nutritional supplementation. Our food stuffs and atmosphere are loaded with toxins causing a wide variety of degenerative diseases. Children are the least able to make wise choices regarding their diets. It is up to responsible adults and in the case of the schools responsible school leaders to ensure more than adequate calorie totals for the food served. If we really want to cut the rapidly rising costs of health care we need to begin again and focus on prevention, particularly now that it is increasingly clear that many degenerative diseases can be prevented with good diet. Now I have been a big offender personally, and am just beginning to reform my own eating patterns. I suspect I may sound like a newly recruited zealot. And frankly it's true. I have become a zealot, but only because I have seen the devastation of degenerative diseases as reflected in the increasingly frequent funerals I've been attending of baby boomers who are dying way too soon. For what it's worth I've managed to loose 22 pounds since August 3rd and am committed to loosing a lot more. But more than that, I intend to take up the challenge of working to improve the health of people worldwide. I would also appreciate anyone who could refer me to an local internet forum where I can pursue the less Minneapolis specific aspect of these issues.
