No kidding, living here across from the Rose Garden you see hundreds of people hours spent, but a block away trees dying. Considering the length of this drought the Park Board sure waited a long time to start watering.

On another note I find it amusing the Park Board wants a marina when they can't even maintain and take care of what they have. They didn't have any money to get the fountains going in the parks and relied on individual donations for that. Secondly they never put money aside for capital maintainance on the fountains. Just a few dollars every year in an escrow account would have added up when the fountains needed to be rehabbed. It makes me very nervous to think they would build a marina when they can't handle maintanance and operation on a few fountains. Please no e-mails from Park Board members about how the Governor and the City did this to us. On the maintainance issue the Park Board should have been putting a small amount away every year for that inevitable day when it was needed, bad economy or good.

The Park Board has been bugging people for a couple of months now to
water trees.  I've watered mine, and reminded neighbors.  I'ver also
turned on hoses to water trees at the homes of people who are into
neglect of newly planted trees.  I usually knock first, but if no one is
