Since the list has shown some interest in Natalie Johnson Lee's traffic ticket issue, I thought folks might also want a follow up to the issue of the city attorney's office tampering with evidentiary tapes in the Rickey Jones case. The bottom line is that Judge Philip Bush ruled last week that the tapes will be sent to the FBI lab for examination and the evidentiary hearing will reconvene on October 30th with the FBI report.

The Strib article on this ruling is here:

CUAPB has had court watchers there each day of the hearing and we have had indepth coverage in various editions of our newsletters, including lots of details that the Strib missed. You can read those newsletters at:

Unlike a simple traffic ticket, the matter of the city attorney's office tampering with videotape evidence is serious and has profound implications. Having seen the various versions of the videotape with my own eyes, I can tell you that there are differences between them. I can also tell you that it is shocking and sad to sit in the courtroom and watch the lies and manipulations being pulled by the city attorney's office to cover their own hindquarters. This is really an important story that I hope will get even more coverage and discussion.
