MY, MY, MY. What a funny?
Jim Mork needs to do his protesting somewhere else. If a few more of
Sharon's "neighbors" along the better neighborhoods were juuust a little
more concerned with how "their" City was discriminating against the
residents of poor neighborhoods with their "Concentration" of supportive
housing, poverty, and "Containment Zones" for crime policies, then maybe
people would not "need" to take "their" City to Federal Court to sue for
justice. Clearly Mr. Mork should try some rhythmic breathing place his feet
on the ground and call his City Council Person and demand that the "Impacted
Neighborhoods" and communities receive the justice which they are also
entitled to. Hey it will cost less tax dollars and help "Your" breathing.
That is unless you and your "neighborhood" are perhaps enjoying the benefits
of that discrimination.

Isn't it amazing that someone who does not believe, and scoffs, at the fact
that there is crime and social problems in impacted areas can get this
excited about "HIS" taxes. Guess what Mr. Mork? "Impacted Areas" and
residents of poor impacted neighborhoods ALSO pay taxes. Often more per
square foot of land than you better neighborhoods do. They do not want to
pay more either, put sometimes that what it takes to cause to get the
attention, and cause some deep breaths from those to blind and deaf to see
and hear the social injustice around them

This is not meant as an insult, but damn Jim Mork sounds like a Republican.
Unfortunately I do not believe Mork is an anomaly. Sadly, I think he in
fact represents the views of many of the pseudo liberals of our City.
Social justice is a reealy kwool theory, unless it might cost him money. It
was NOT Pawlenty and Swiggum who have created the institutional pattern of
discrimination in Minneapolis, it's our own Democrats. It is also damn time
for us Minneapolis Democrats to get back to fighting FOR social justice and
stop the discrimination.

Jennings:
I do not in any way support Jennings. On the other hand I am amazed by that
again Mork's chief concern appears to be the "Liability" this may place on
the City. Those damn taxes again! Also in answer to Diane Wiley and her
concern that Jennings does not have a doctorate in education. I believe we
have had several such "Doctorates" running around for sometime in the
Minneapolis School System. What results have we received from these
"Doctors"? A damn sick school system! Doctors indeed! There was a time in
this country when one-room schoolrooms with teachers with "Eighth Grade
Teaching Certificates" accomplished something that MPS with its "Doctors"
cannot. All the kids could read, rite, and do rithmetic, by the second or
third grade. We probably need more "Bachelors" degrees and the money spent
on creating parental involvement. Leave the "Doctors" at the University to
create theory and give us a few more caring, dedicated "REAL" teachers with
BA's.

Gallmon:
Mr. Mork again demonstrates some insight into a particular mind set.
>"Why not one or more OTHER organizations for that segment of the African
American community. Whites have Republicans, Democrats, Greens,
Libertarians, and not a few others."<

I do not mind, nor am I in disagreement (or agreement), with most of Mr.
Mork's statement except for one thing. Though "some" might find it hard to
believe "Whites" do NOT "Have the Republicans, Democrats, Greens,
Libertarians, and a few others." All those political parties include
African American people and other minorities. Sure we as Democrats have
been more welcoming and inclusive of Black people and others of our society,
but I know many very loyal and dedicated Black Republicans, several Greens.
And staarange as it might seem, at least one Black Libertarian. The problem
is that many act like we are "allowing" Black people to be part of "Our"
political parties. No sir, it is "Their Party" also!

Now yaw have a nice cool fall day, which you can look back at it as being
balmy in a couple of months. So when you get home put on a sweatshirt or
sweater and go for a walk along a lake or river, and celebrate this
marvelous City we live in.
