For all you big-box watchers out there -- From today's Star Tribune: "CVS, Lowe's still pursuing Twin Cities entry / Wanted: prime Twin Cities real estate for rapidly expanding national retailers."
http://www.startribune.com/stories/535/4131078.html >From me: Proposed CVS drug store location is in Minneapolis at southeast corner of Central Avenue NE and 37th Avenue NE. Plans as of today, according to city this morning, call for using the site of the Budget Inn Motel (better known in Northeast as the Hi-Lo), credit union, dentist's office and one house. Compatibility (or lack thereof) with city's Comprehensive Plan sounds like it has already lead to some interesting discussion. As a nearby resident, I'm anxious to see what CVS comes up with next. Wonder how this will blend with the Walmart complex that's being planned for about a half mile away at the old Apache Plaza site next to a new Walgreen's drug store. Guess the world is just shaping up to be one big box. Gayle Bonneville Northeast Minneapolis REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
