"Board Chairwoman Sharon Henry-Blythe said that she welcomes ideas and input
from the community, but that the board will decide whether to hold public
hearings or find other ways to get input from the community."

"She added: "It depends on what they mean by community involvement. Is it
that they think that the community makes the decision?" -- Many seek voice on
new Minneapolis schools superintendent, Allie Shah, Star Tribune, Published

[Doug Mann] The school board picked Jennings without a fair and open process
for selecting a new superintendent. Jennings withdrew his name from
consideration due to vocal objections from community leaders to the choice and the
process. Somehow I am not surprised that the board members don't want public
hearings where people may say things the board does not want to hear.

Yes, public education is under attack. And so is the school board. But
"attacking" the school board for its incompetent leadership is quite different from
attacking public education.
