Jim Boyd's piece in Sunday's Strib was a fairly concise description of what we need in a superintendent of schools. The part that was missing, in his article and the overall discussion in general, is specific evidence that Mr. Jennings has actually demonstrated those skills and abilities in his time on the payroll. A new politically connected PR type job every couple of years is not evidence of those skills. The several unresolved major issues facing the MPS suggest that there have been some possible shortcomings in the actual operations recently.
