I take it from Neal Krasnoffs sarcastic tone about police shooting citizens that he thinks HE could not become involved in a conflict situation. He seems to be applauding whenever a policeman uses the ultimate sanction to preserve his life. But we hire humans. Which means ANY of us could be mistakenly identified as a threat to the life (or career?) of a policeman. If Neal ends up being buried due to his own convictions, should they say at the funeral, Dont cry, Neal would have wanted it this way?
As for professions protecting the charlatans in their own number, we need some kind of law that says the taxpayer will NOT front the money under any conceivable circumstance for cops who shirk responsibility. That is just a LICENSE to brutalize their own employers. Let their suburbs who get their tax money provide them with legal services. If were not good enough to be their neighbors, why SHOULD we protect them from their own errors? Personally, Im in favor of any method whatever to make the bad cops want to work elsewhere. My WIFE is in healthcare. She has to buy her OWN liability insurance.
Overoccupancy
No, careless fires are not directly caused by overoccupancy. So, trying to solve fires by invoking overoccupancy laws is comparable to stopping Al Capone from killing by auditing his tax returns. It is expedient, but it has undesirable side effects that most citizens should oppose. Frankly, I think every rental lease should FORBID smoking in a rental property. Why should any landlord willingly risk his investment dollars on the bet that a tenant will be CAREFUL with a cigarette. I dont think smokers know what the word careful means. That would be far more to the POINT than enforcing what, to me, is a STUPID LAW.
