Minneapolis has already paid out over $20 million in judgments for
violating property rights, AND OUR CITY LEADERS STILL DON'T GET THE
MESSAGE. Of course it's not their money that they are losing - it's
yours and mine. So who cares? Right!

Following is a kindergarten version of Amendment V for the
Constitutionally challenged: IF THE GOVERNMENT DENIES A PERSON THE
USE OF HIS OR HER PRIVATE PROPERTY, IT IS A TAKING. THE GOVERNMENT
MAY NOT "TAKE" PROPERTY WITHOUT "JUST COMPENSATION."

When the City violates the Mother of all Laws, it must pay damages and
legal costs to the harmed party. The problem is that most people
cannot afford get justice through the Courts.

When I won my lawsuit, Council Member Colvin Roy told Eve White
(Director of Mpls Property Rights group) "Vicky would never have won
if she couldn't afford those lawyers." Translation: It's OK to cheat
people who can't fight back.

Unless YOU do something about this, only the wealthy will enjoy their
protected rights.

The right thing to do is to lift the moratorium and let Mr. Al-Mosawy
proceed with his dream. What is a moratorium anyway? A bunch of
whiny, selfish neighbors imposing their wishes on another citizen who
is completely within his rights to open a store. If crime is a
problem, that is a City Council FAILURE. We pay exorbitant property
taxes to keep ALL NEIGHBORHOODS IN MINNEAPOLIS EQUALLY SAFE.

YOU cannot let these things continue to happen.

Get on the phone, call your Council Member, call the Mayor, call the
City Attorney, and DEMAND that they correct this problem before they
destroy Al-Mosawy's life, bankrupt him, and cost YOU a small fortune.

P.S.: Council Member Johnson's quote from Grow's column: "I don't
know how that administrative process works." My response: I GIVE
UP!!!!
