Apparently there is a public hearing regarding the qualifications for the new superintendent of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board on Wednesday night, November 19 at 5 pm at the Park Board Headquarters.
With all the talk recently about the process/qualifications regarding the school superintendent, I am wondering what thoughts list members have about a specific agenda or focus or qualifications the potential leader of the park system should have.
As one intimately connected with our park system (as a user, volunteer, one-time campaigner for office, sometime-critic, and all-time supporter), I have my own issues (milfoil, buckthorn removal, native area restoration), and I know there have been numerous controversial issues out there (porta-potties, the new headquarters, dog parks). What issues do YOU think the new superintendent really should care about, be committed to, champion?
Let's hear some chatter.
