Just saw on the news that some unamed group is holding a protest march against police brutality this evening.

This is the very height of irresponsibility. MPD and other departments will already be busy trying to keep the little trick or treaters safe, prevent another riot near the Uof M this homecoming, and deal with the usual warehouse district mayhem accentuated by the Halloween "holiday". Never mind putting out whatever Detroit style "celebrations" the gangbangers may try to ignite- our fire department already had to put out a suspicious fire at our school bus yard last night. To all that add dealing with the drunk drivers who will be out in New Year's Eve volumes.

Whatever group that is irresponsibly organizing this march unintentionally risks setting off a riot on a night when Minneapolis is least able to control said riot. Then again, perhaps setting off a riot is there intent?
