There was a protest against police brutality at City Hall this afternoon. There were the usual suspects: Randy Staten, Rev. Bethel, Bill English, Evelyn Eubanks, Chris Nissan, Spike Moss and about 150 others. 6th ward city council member Dean Zimmerperson was there to show his support. Two marches began at 1 PM from opposite sides of downtown and converged on city hall. A rally outside of city hall was underway before 1:45 PM and ended about 2:30 PM, when over 100 entered the building. I think the plan was to have a post-rally discussion with the mayor.
I'm sure mayor Ryback welcomes such opportunities for civic engagement as a treat, not a trick. -Doug Mann, King Field http://educationright.tripod.com REMINDERS: 1.
