As a frequent visitor to Northeast (yep, we southwester's do cross that river now and then) I always suspected that they do things a wee bit "oddly" up there but "even" they can't escape putting numbers on their houses.
Every street in Minneapolis - thankfully - subscribes to a pretty simple plan. All buildings on streets/avenues running north-south will have addresses ending in an even number on the west side and an odd number on the east side of that street/avenue. For streets/avenues running east-west, the buildings on the south will have an address ending with an even number, buildings on the north side of the roadway will end with an odd number. Even if there are no buildings on the roadway, that numbering system is still in effect and yes, you can be ticketed!! Does anyone know of any exceptions to this rule?
