One waterfall may have been the termination of a stream that now runs underneath the U of M east bank campus (that's why the buildings flood along Washington Avenue). The stream happens to run underneath the proposed stadium site, adding costs if they would like to sink it below grade as one would expect. This mystery stream ran in what is now the rail corridoor through Dinkytown.
Any how, anyone have some info?
Also through my searching I have reassured my belief that the modern park system is in shambles compared to the glorious spaces that they were in the first half of the century. This is in part due a shift in funding and most notably a change in how the park system is used. I just find it to be unfortunate that these great public spaces have been reduced to kiddie lots with trees. What would Horace Cleavland think?
