Does anyone seriously think this tax would ever "blink off"? Talk about a license to steal money.
Instead, how about a tax on every person who enters the city of Minneapolis? This would include Minneapolis residents returning home who have traveled outside of the city limits for work or play. Think of it as a toll. The toll could be as high as you want to cover the city's expenses. With the proper design, it could vary just as easily as gas prices vary today. You could even have some neighborhoods' tolls higher (or lower) than others. Just think of the possibilities. Tom Searles Waconia, Twp.
