All of 7 people showed up last night to put their recommendations for qualifications for a new park superintendent on public record.
Interestingly, all 7 spoke of the need for a greater emphasis and commitment by the in-coming toward environmental ideals: buckthorn, mulberry and milfoil removal, greater native planting areas, more money for staff in forestry and horticuture, and an overall championing of all things green.
Not one person spoke of a superintendent who would focus MORE on recreation, more on amenities like marinas, headquarters, tennis courts, or even more emphasis on programing.
We'll see what the board's search comes up with....
Apparently a short list of superintendent candidates is available today? Any word, Annie or John?
