Each year (well, for one year so far), Skyway News and Southwest Journal publish a Thank You issue in the last issue of the year.
The goal is for readers and community members to recognize others for the oft-unsung good things they have done throughout the year. The thanks don't have to be for huge things - just things people did to make your block, or neighborhood, or school, or community better. They can be anyone - from the mailman or the video clerk or friendly face at the coffeeshop to the community volunteer, or city employee, or teacher or even elected official (if in this case, the thanks are genuine and not campaign fodder). Please email your praise, along with contact info for the individual(s) to me at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Deadline is Friday, Dec. 5. The thank-yous will run in the Dec. 15 Skyway News and the Dec. 18 Southwest Journal. Because our papers cover Downtown and Southwest Minneapolis, the nominees must live or do their thing in those areas. Please don't nominate anyone from either of our papers. Thank you!
