Sure, the pre-Christmas parking situation is more
difficult than at other times, but I think the Star
Tribune article about hundreds of Lake Street
customers being towed speaks for itself. The
counterintuitive Smith Parker/Hennepin County plan to
reduce parking on Lake is at best misguided. Here is
the article:

Excerpts:

As many as 150 Ingebretsen's customers should expect
to have their cars towed this week, according to the
St. Louis Park towing company that patrols the
Bloomington-Lake Clinic parking lot across the street.
The Parking Endorsement towing company hauled away
nearly 200 cars last December, nearly all of them
belonging to Ingebretsen's customers, the towing
company's owner said.

Eric Sarri, 40, a former Rochester resident now living
in Evergreen, Colo., also said he "couldn't wait" to
get back to Ingrebretsen's. But he did wait. He
circled the store several times on two occasions
Monday, but couldn't find a parking spot. So he
returned Tuesday.

Doug Knudson, 39, of Minneapolis, said he parked a few
blocks away because he didn't want to "waste time
driving around and risk having to wait outside the
store in line."
