Throwing out the issue of police brutality against
Sharon Lubinski and Lucy Gerold is so unfair. It's
bizarre. Did anybody see this coming?

The main arguments against these two "insiders" are
the issues of police brutality and racial profiling.

How did they become contaminated? When did they and
everyone else connected with the Minneapolis police
become contaminated with some universal stain of
guilt?

Two years ago R.T. Rybak ran for Mayor with the
Police Federation endorsement. Were all "insiders"
contaminated by evil two years ago?

I haven't seen the Mayor publicly blasting the
police over the last two years, either. R.T. Rybak has
mainly been a consensus leader.

Maybe I was wrong to think the Mayor was the main
instigator of this surprising change of direction. It
doesn't sound like something he would do.

It doesn't make sense as a re-election strategy,
either. Uniting most of the city against the Mayor is
generally not a recommended strategy.

Maybe this move came from the selection committee.
Maybe it came from other people. No, I don't have any
idea who would have been the main movers and shakers
behind this move.

               My Analogy

Maybe my poetic license will be suspended after
this
analogy.

Suppose there was a woman in the military, a
General, who was in line for one of one of the top
positions.

   A new President is elected.

Then. the new Administration decided that that the
military needed to be "shaken up". All the top
positions in the military have to be given to generals
from Bush-hating, peaceloving, non-imperialist
countries such as ....France!

Supporters of this wacky new Administration say
that all American officers are tainted by complicity
in war crimes and imperialist adventures.

Of course, there are many reasons why my analogy is
impossible, absurd.
