After seeing the current President of the Park Board Bob Fine in action over the last couple of years, nothing he does surprises me anymore.  His lack of integrity and bully pulpit approach to running the meetings both in public and in the back rooms is unfortunately all very predictable.  When you try to inquire about a park related issue - his response is attacking. I was once so naive to think that he was actually in this role because he loved the parks and the city.  It is really about power and the influence he can stronghold over others - even some of the other commissioners.  Lets only hope that these current tactics will be communicated so that when they run
for public office again the public will speak by electing their opponents.

The current behaviors of the 5 board members are quite predictable.  I wonder if the 5 board members are interested in Jon Gurban because his organization has such "wonderful' advertisers and vendors for the MRPA's USSSA division (see the website) as Miller Lite and local gambling Casinos.  Advertising is revenue.  And for those of you who remember the Dairy Queen fiasco - it was all about the money.  Are these the connections that are important to the commissioners

What about the MRPA's sweetheart deal at the Wirth House on 40th & Bryant?  When that became known by the public I asked Fine if he knew Jon Gurban - he answer was no.  Two weeks later it came out that they had graduated from Southwest High School and yes they did know each other - but were not close friends.

When are the citizens going to start paying closer attention to the likes of these 5 commissioners that are running the respecful and hardworking 4 commissioners into the ground.

Lets not forget about the fabulous expose that Scott Russell wrote in the SW Journal
about the financial support that 4 of these commisssioners received from Brian Rice the Lobbyist for the Mpls Parks and the MRPA.

All of these connections lead to one thing - power.  What happened on Dec 17th was no accident or simply because others pulled out of the search process.  The search process should be reinstated and an outside interim superintendent put in place.
