I have been reading all the comments (and the rants) about the Mayor's choice of a Police Chief and the debacle of the Park Board selecting its Superintendent.  I agree that the Park Board's move was beyond belief and I can't figure out why the five did it.  I agree that people can rage about it all they want, but in truth, nothing can be done until the next election.   And I intend to work against the five for their arrogance. Therefore, have your say, but at some point, let it go and move on.

I really feel that way over the Police Chief as well.  The voter elected R. T.  He asked for input in who to appoint and that was given.  Then he made his choice.  Okay, so some didn't like his choice - hey, it's the Mayor's call.  And remember that the Mayor's fate at the next election will in large part be determined on how well the Police Chief does.  So how about letting the new Chief have a go at it, give him some slack, and maybe we will be surprised at the outcome.

What I really am against is that constant railing about things that "may be" "could be"  or "might be".  People don't even get a chance to show their stuff, but instead are judged just because they were chosen over some other person.

Hold people responsible for their appointments, but for heavens sake, let the appointees do their job first and then you will have something concrete to talk about - now it is all conjecture.
