Not surprising- thanks to our Republican Governor's and State House's tax cuts for the wealthy our police force is still over 100 officers short. The Hennepin County jail for the same reason has 200 cells sitting unused because they can't afford to staff the entire jail. Meanwhile, the Republican's refusal to give up there tax cuts to the wealthy will result in more offenders, including sexual predators, being released earlier because our prisons are full.

BTW, tonight I saw what appeared to be the same perp MPD hauled out of 2515 North 3rd Street after a shooting on the front porch of that address- perhaps our judges are giving out a bit too much holiday mercy? Is it no wonder our city is losing population?

At 9:45 this evening something blasted through my

thought it was a shoot-out or something. I switched
the light off and went for the phone to call 911
immediately.

HALF AN HOUR LATER, when the folks outside had long
since disappeared, the police finally showed up.

I have to admit, this is first time I've had to call
911 in a while, but what's up with this? Half hour
response time to a shot fired? (Which came inside my
house, for crying out loud!!!!)

What's up with this? Is this normal?
