If we are going to go here then all officers should be
asked their opinions of what is important in the
selection of the new chief, etc. Currently, I believe
their voice is gathered by and large through the
federation and the federation leadership represents
their opinion to the mayor. Not sure what
communications have taken place there but can imagine
it's been quite lengthy. If these and other officers
have dissenting opinions from that of the federation,
then they should find whatever way necessary to have
their voices heard. I think there is also a black
police officers federation or at least there used to
be.
