series of films about Minneapolis this Wednesday:

A collection of films documenting Minneapolis from the 1950�s to the
present.

SEE! �Skid Row�, shot in the late 1950�s,  a gritty, real life
documentary about the hobos who lived and died on Skid Row in downtown
Minneapolis. OBSERVE! Minneapolis in the mid-60�s, when the Foshay was
the tallest skyscraper. LISTEN! to a debate on Minneapolis� own civil
rights movement. ANALYZE! excessively prominent and exceedingly poor
neighborhoods as part of a mid-60�s topic on urban and social blight.
WITNESS! the burning of Plymouth Ave. in North Minneapolis during the
race riots of the late 60�s.  CHEER! the Minnesota Vikings as they take
on the former champion Green Bay Packers at the Met Center. ENJOY! the
upbeat 70�s with �Minneapolis, City in Motion�,  a film promoting of our
vibrant city. ROLLER-SKATE! around Lake of the Isles. GO! on a parade on
Nicollet.  PROMOTE! industry, urban expansion, and technology to a funky
�70�s groove. WALK! �The Walk� through uptown in the mid 1970�s. SIT
DOWN! with three senior business owners as they reminisce about
Minneapolis in �Three Shops on Main Street� in the 1990�s.  FLOAT! by
downtown Minneapolis today in a boating adventure on the mighty
Mississippi.
