The school board does not seem to want much responsibility for the teaching staff. "The concept of contracting with the Teachers Federation to train and supply teachers to the district got the greatest interest from board members. I guess teachers are nothing more than interchangeable pegs. They must be feeling proud after reading this column.
It would, among other things, move teachers from white collar workers to blue collar workers. The remaining teachers would probably make more money that way--overtime, platform time.... They would have to correct tests in the school building so they could clock on and off.
