RS: The garbage that stinks in all of this is that somehow it seems OK for the average
hard working taxpayer to build an overpriced playpen for millionaires that are owned
by a billionaire. Does anyone on this list actually think that if Carl or Red were to
build their own stadiums that they would cost anywhere near the price we the taxpayer
are being expected to pay?

PS: As long as Mayor Rybak has started his re-election efforts with last month's
fundraiser at the Kaplans', he ought to show us he's an adroit campaigner and explain
why he's reversed his position regarding public funding for sports stadiums. He can
also tell us where, exactly, he stands on the 35W Access Project. I feel his
constituents have a right to know this, since the project is in . . . Minneapolis . .
. and that's the city he happens to be mayor of. (Another member of this forum and I
had an off-list discussion about the Mayor's exact position on this. He's not as sure
as I am that the Mayor supports the project.) And now that Mayor Rybak is a candidate
Rybak once again, he ought to tell potential voters how he intends to address the
homeless issue (something that's been on my mind recently with the below-zero
temperatures outdoors). ----Peter Schmitz CARAG
