In response to Jan:
There is no political will among most of our Mpls and Hennepin county
elected leaders to end homlessness.
When anyone is motivated to address an issue, you know immediately. They
talk about it(an example would be Paul Ostrow and Mayor Rybak's talking about
the stadium). they lobby about the issue (again Paul and the Mayor going to the
legislature about the stadium), they meet and greet ( as in the news clip of
Mayor Rybak shaking hands with people in the Skyway system- to promote the
stadium), they align themselves with the issue (wearing Twins t-shirts or singing
"Take Me Out to the Ball Game- as Mayor Rybak has done).
They work exhaustively to overcome all obstacles-- are relentless in
pursuit of that issue-- as is being done with the Stadium--- never mind the
referendums that have said no public money.

When faced with an issue they are not interested in truly addressing--
they trot out the yes buts.
"But it costs so much money"--- like a stadium doesn't
"It is so complicated"- like abandoning one stadium in the heart of
downtown to build another one (in the heart of downtown) has not required pretty
complicated wheeling and dealing.
"It is economically not feasible"- do I really need to even give examples
of the failed deals with millionaire debelopers?
"The budget cuts don't allow it"- but I guess money grows on trees for
stadiums.

And then, just for laughs we get quotes like "Stand Up Keep Fighting"
thrown in our faces.
