On February 7th all across Minneapolis and St. Paul individuals will be throwing dinner party fundraisers in support of Clare Housing. For those of you unfamiliar with Clare Housing, it is an organization that develops affordable supportive housing for individuals living with the disabilities of HIV/AIDS. Clare Housing will soon be breaking ground (or may have done so already) on a new affordable housing supportive living facility in the Saint Anthony East neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis (on the site where the King of Clubs sits). I believe this project will also be done in partnership with CCHT, which will be building additional housing across a shared common area from the Clare Housing project. The price tag for Clare Apartments is $6.8 million of which Clare Housing has raised $5.5 million.
Clare Housing currently operates two housing programs: Clare House in St. Paul and Damiano House in Minneapolis, and the proceeds from the Friends Dining with Friends evening will go to support the operations of these two programs.
I encourage you to attend a Friends Dining with Friends event or to throw one of your own. You can check out Clare Housing's webpage at www.clarehousing.org for more information or you can email Sara Leedom at [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is a great and easy way to support affordable housing and individuals living with HIV and AIDS.
