What the line below says, and I fully support, is that there is more than one truth. Truth varies from culture to culture, time to time, people to people, and my truth isn't necessarily the Truth.

But also notice the qualifier...can be right...it doesn't say that all truths of all people are correct all the time, to do so would sanction egregious human rights violations and other forms of oppression at home and abroad, but it does chip away at big T truth.

The Minneapolis Public Schools taught me that my truth isn't necessarily the only truth or the only way to see the world. Thankfully that instruction didn't start in junior high with the IB program. It started much earlier...at Longfellow School of Fine Arts, at Hostermann in New Hope, at Richfield Intermediate, at Anwatin, and at Patrick Henry High School through the IB program. And we should be teaching our youth that there are very few TRUTHS in the world...and quite a few truths...and we need to find ways to make room for the views and beliefs of others.
