I believe Herkimer's mission statement is "brewpub beer for folks who don't like brewpub beer," and that may be the reason for Pulse's critical drubbing. They do not yet sell growlers; they're hoping to by the end of February.
My personal brewpub of choice is Town Hall Brewery in Seven Corners. Not only do they have growlers ($6 deposit on the jug, $8 refills), they also have "cask conditioned" English style ales on tap. They also brew their own root beer, and the restaurant half of the building is non-smoking. Parking near Seven Corners means pay lot or meter, though. Mike McAneney Tangletown (with a growler of Town Hall "Hood Pale Ale" in my fridge right now) David Brauer wrote: You mean Pulse's Worst Brew Pub in town???? ;) I'd say sale of growlers is a must - do they do that? Also, it is one smokey bar, and that may be an obstacle for many list members. Thanks for moving the ball forward, Barb - sorry if I'm getting in the way. Darn democracy.
