In perusing The Jennings proposal (http://www.mpls.k12.mn.us/news/pdf/school_summary.pdf) it appears to me that a disproportionate share of the closings are along the river in (roughly the Seward, Longfellow, Cooper, Howe, and Hiawatha neighborhoods). It may be a coincidence, and someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe any of the current school board members come from those neighborhoods.

I'm not suggesting any grand conspiracy, not do I think that it's neccessarily cause and effect. I do wonder though that, if I'm right, and it being an election year maybe it's time for that area to be represented on the school board. Granted, they'd get there after the decision on closings is a done deal, but it does seem like it would be fair regardless.
